Our client located in York Region (Hwy 401 and Allen Rd area), is looking for a General Accountant to join their team for a full time opportunity. Working with a well established company within the retail chain industry, and reporting directly to the Controller, this opportunity requires the day to day processing of the accounting and finance functions. The ideal candidate will be looking for a long term opportunity to contribute to company’s overall success.
Responsibilities
• Data entry of invoices entries into Great Plains
• Daily cash ups reconciliations
• Payroll preparation/commission calculations /issuance of T4 slips
• Prepare and file GST/ HST/ EHT/ WSIB and any other government required documents.
• Bank statements reconciliations
• Vendor statements reconciliations
• Credit card statements reconciliation
• Issuance of cheques
• Assist with Controller’s preparation of financial statements when required
• Support with month end closing duties as advised by the Controller
• General bookkeeping responsibilities including filing and organizing as required
Qualifications
• Pursing CPA or designated
• Minimum 5+ years experience in full cycle accounting
• Payroll experience is required
• Experience in retail industry is an asset
• Superior communication skills both written and verbal
• Professional and mature demeanor
• Reliable and trustworthy characteristics
