About the college:
Toronto Business College, established in 2009, is collaborating with a community college in order to provide top quality program delivery to international students.
Position Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for promoting and recruiting for the college’s programs, responding to inquiries from agencies and potential students on a variety of questions about programs, college policies, and related matters. The incumbent will be working to increase the number of agencies working directly with the college, the number of applications, and a growing student body.
We are looking to potentially fill more than one position: we are excited to receive applicants to recruit from Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and more.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Student Recruitment Officer will be responsible for the following:
-Responding to email, telephone, social media, and walk-in inquiries from potential students;
-Promoting college programs and services in an honest, accurate, and ethical manner;
-Visiting agents, attending student recruitment fairs domestically and potentially abroad;
-Establishing and maintaining monthly targets;
-Increasing diversity in student body;
-Talking with potential students to explore their academic and career background, identify their career goals, and advise as needed on appropriate programs;
-Advise prospective students about possible English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program;
-Assisting with enrollment process for new students;
-Maintaining accurate and complete records to track and follow-up on potential leads;
-Tracking and reporting on weekly activities (i.e. leads, appointments, meetings, applications, enrollment);
-Providing ongoing support to students as they begin and progress throughout their program of studies;
-Planning and participating in remote and on-campus events such as Virtual Fairs, Open Houses and Information Sessions;
-Attending virtual and off-campus events and workshops as needed;
-Coordinating and collaborating with others in the recruitment team;
-Other duties as needed;
Qualifications, Skills, and Educational Requirements:
To be successful in the Student Recruitment Officer position, the incumbent must be committed to developing, maintaining and demonstrating the following:
Education and Experience:
-Completion of post-secondary education, plus a minimum of 1 year experience in international student recruitment within Canada;
-Fluency in language from overseas market(s);
-Advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite; previous experience using a database program
-Effective research skills utilizing Internet

-Must possess a positive attitude, ability to work with a diverse and international student body, with a strong work ethic;
-Willing to travel abroad;
-Must have a valid Ontario drivers’ license and up-to-date vehicle insurance for occasional travel outside the office;
