We’re looking for our next Analyst, Reconciliation. Could It Be You?

The purpose of this role is to mitigate financial, regulatory and reputational risks by ensuring the SLA and regulatory compliance of third-party clearing operations services and in-house processes. The Analyst will work collaboratively to foster productive and positive relationships for the benefit of Questrade’s clients and overall business operations.

What’s it like working as Analyst, Reconciliation at Questrade?

The Analyst is responsible for reviewing the daily activities within Questrade’s Reconciliation department. The position monitors, audits and measures in-house processes and third-party services against SLA’s and regulatory obligations, then reports on the results.

They act as the first and primary point of contact for third party administrative employees. Be the gatekeeper of all brokerage accounts, conducting daily and/or monthly reconciliation for over 570 internal accounts, assigning and following up on unresolved positions to adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policy and procedure.

They foster positive and productive relationships internally and with third parties, and they work collaboratively with all parties to effectively resolve issues.

• Ensure daily reports are received from outsourced reconciliation groups. Review and follow up with each department on aged breaks.
• Reports include Illogical, CDS reconciliation, DTC reconciliation, CNS Reconciliation, Foreign Custody Reconciliation, Loanet Reconciliation, Balance Orders, Stock Record Breaks, Firm Balance, Suspense Account Reconciliations, No Name, Memo, and Seg Deficits.
• Collaborate with different departments in resolving cross department breaks and complex issues.
• Communicate with the book of record’s business analysts for complex and system level problems.
• Conduct and review monthly reconciliations from all departments in Operations, including Transfer, Year-end, Registered Plans, Reorg, Settlements, Purchase & Sale, Physical Certs, and Client Operations.

• 2+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in the financial services industry
• Experience working in a clearing operation or back-office department
• Sound knowledge in one or more clearing operations functional areas is an asset
• Sound communication skills
• Proven analytical and reconciliation skills and experience
• CSI course completion, including CSC, CPH exam is an asset
• Experience using Broadridge system is preferred
• Python, Macros or Google Scripting is an asset
