Summary
This bilingual position will heavily focus on the recruitment efforts in Quebec by sourcing, screening, and conducting the full recruitment and hiring process for candidates. This role will also provide support in all areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to benefit programs, union agreements, HRIS, recruitment, employee relations and compliance. Reporting to the HR Manager in Toronto and Quebec Regional Director in Montreal, the HR Partner will support the Quebec offices by overseeing programs that support employees while promoting a diverse, fair, and inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
• Performs general and administrative duties to support HR and Operations.
• Builds candidate pipelines through job fairs, college/university events and support retention programs.
• Performs pre-employment background and reference checks and works with HRIS to set up onboarding/orientation.
• Coordinates with HR Manager and legal to support labor issues/grievances.
• Assists in scheduling recruiting activities and events; supports internship and DEI programs
• Prepares and edits HR correspondences, communications, presentations, and other documents in French.
• Supports with time off, leave of absence/ return to work and benefits issues.
• Supports the Quebec operations with administrative payroll issues.
• Maintains and organizes corporate employee files and other employment records locally for the HR department.
• Keeps informed of legislative, government and employment changes in Quebec
• Supports HR Manager and Regional Director in negotiations and implementation of Union Agreements
• Supports and facilitates CSR and DEI initiatives programs in the workplace.
• Hybrid role – with occasional travelling to job sites as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
• 3-5 years of full life-cycle recruitment and HR generalist experience.
• Bilingual in French and English required
• Construction industry and union experience an asset
• HRIS and ATS experience an asset
• DEI & CSR program building
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and SharePoint
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner as well as research, gather and analyze information skillfully.
• Effectively communicate with people in potentially stressful situations
• Must maintain confidentiality and work effectively with others including management, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
• Must be able to prioritize, plan work activities and work consistently and dependably
• Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and manage frequent change, delays or unexpected events

Salary Range: 70,000 – 80,000/yr
