We’re seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Vocational Program Manager to provide direct leadership, supervision, and support to the vocational team and oversees resource management within their assigned program. The Manager is responsible for creating a safe, positive, and therapeutic vocational environment. The Manager ensures policies, procedures, and agency standards are being met.

The Manager leads the vocation team within a cross-functional, multidisciplinary, integrated, and collaborative model of treatment. The Manager is responsible for integrating the vocational program with other agency programs as well as the community. The Manager sets the direction for the program and creates a climate of learning and personal development that benefits both participants and staff.

Qualifications

Education and Professional Certification

• University degree in human services or related field of study.

Experience

• Minimum four (4) years of experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with behavioral, cognitive, mental health, and/or developmental challenges.
• Experience in a supervisory role, providing leadership, guidance, support, and development to team members.

Duties And Responsibilities

Services

• Based on the participants’ vocational assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate the individual vocational plans. Ensure the plans provide a holistic approach, focusing on developing the whole person (intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and cultural). Monitor and approve the team’s delivery of the plans.
• Establish and maintain a therapeutic milieu.
• Manage and provide structure for the vocational programming. Research, adopt, refine, and implement service elements to improve programming or meet the changing needs of the participants.
• Ensure participants needs are met in accordance with policy and procedures including: safety, treatment, medication regiments, healthcare, documentation, nutrition, daily activities, and hygiene.
• Develop and implement a communication plan that includes the dissemination of information with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with and establish professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Responsible for the orientation of participants and/or families to the program services.
• Lead and resolve first level investigations regarding staff or participant issues, concerns, and grievances.
• Teach and model appropriate interventions and handling techniques in accordance to agency standards. Provide post-crisis response and debriefing follow-up and training.
• Participate in and facilitate meetings and planning sessions with internal and external stakeholders regarding the program and the participants.
• Represent the team at all planning conferences, three-way conferences, and intake, transfer, and discharge meetings with stakeholders as required.
• Participate in community events, agency activities, and other activities as required.
• Ensure the vocational team’s documentation in permanent records, working papers, and intra-unit communications is complete and in compliance with agency standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Leadership

• Manage the vocational team within their program including; recruitment and selection, performance management, professional development, and staff discipline.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and team development for all vocational employees of the program including: facilitating team meetings and individual supervisions; overseeing and providing training and development plans; completing evaluations, reviews, and when applicable, performance improvement plans; participating in employee relations issues and investigations; providing post-crisis debriefing; and providing advice and consultation.
• Responsible to ensure direct reports have completed mandatory training.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and agency standards are being met.

Management of Resources

• Schedule all employees of the program using agency approved systems. Manage and update the schedules as required including approving paid time off (PTO) requests, filling open shifts, and addressing staffing requirements.
• Access resources required to achieve program objectives appropriately and efficiently.
• Responsible for the oversight and appropriate use of all agency resources assigned to the program.
• Prepare and reconcile the program’s monthly operating budget, with specific responsibilities for the monthly working fund projections as applicable.
• Provide input into the program’s annual strategic plan and capital plan.
• Account for the successful implementation of the operating plans within the assigned vocational programs.
• Ensure care and maintenance of the assigned assets including; building(s), vehicles(s), furnishings, and equipment. Account for, through agency systems, the use of resources. Submit the required safety, licensing, and maintenance logs.

• Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions.
• Include health and safety in departmental plans with measurable goals and objectives.
• Ensure employees are working in compliance with established safe work practices.

Additional Requirements

The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.

Employees must hold a class five (5) novice two (2) or higher drivers license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy.

Salary range: 76,752 to 99,216 Annually.
