Responsibilities:

• Accountable for compiling journal entries and overseeing month-end closing procedures.
• Compile and sustain reconciliations for accounts and balance sheets, ensuring accuracy of designated assets and liabilities.
• Conduct bank reconciliations for both CAD and USD bank accounts.
• Manage the fixed asset subledger system.
• Collaborate with the General Accounting Manager to develop variance analyses for designated cost centers, comparing actual figures against budgets and forecasts, and addressing any inconsistencies in consultation with departmental managers.
• Assist in preparing financial statement working papers, conducting analysis, and providing insightful commentary.
• Coordinate specific aspects of financial reporting, acquiring comprehensive knowledge of business operations, GAAP principles, and budget assumptions to ensure accuracy and clarity in reporting.
• Facilitate seamless communication and offer day-to-day accounting assistance to designated business units. Work with the General Accounting Manager to provide financial reporting and analysis for these units.

Requirements:

• Possession of a College Diploma or University Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field is mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates with a progressing accounting designation.
• Demonstrated track record of 2 to 3 years in general accounting roles, with a requisite background in financial analysis.
• Proficient in Excel with a robust command of Microsoft Office suite.
• Prior exposure to Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous.
