They are searching for a Human Resource Manager to join the team. This position requires working closely with the Executive Director and collaborating with all other staff in the organization. Responsibilities
Supporting and monitoring the human resource team in ensuring established financial, policy, and collective agreement requirements are met
Ensuring that the firm complies by staying current on matters relating to collective bargaining, employment standards, and other applicable legislation and laws
Managing the entire recruitment process, including creating or revising job descriptions and making sure they are reviewed and classified as necessary
Creates and puts into practice excellent employee orientation and training, including HR/OHS practices, policies, and procedures
Liaising with the HR team in organizing of staff appreciation events, anniversaries, holidays and to acknowledge successes, etc.
Drafts and plans ongoing employee training programs in coordination with the HR team, keeping in mind contract and licensing specifications as well as the organization’s needs
Ensuring HR manual, staff memos, and personnel procedures are up to date and in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement and other pertinent policies and laws
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years’ related human resources experience preferably within a non-profit, unionized environment in Canada
Demonstrated computer and IT aptitude including M365 and ADP
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
Required to undergo a criminal record check-up as a standard procedure
First Aid Certificate is required
Has a professional yet compassionate demeanor and has the ability to work in a busy environment
Displays a strong feminist analysis and within an anti-oppression framework
