OVERVIEW
The ASR Customs and Logistics Coordinator will work as a member of the Belleville Distribution Team and is responsible for preparing all customs paperwork for cross border shipments and coordinating shipments with customs officials. Moreover, the Coordinator will be responsible for customs compliance programs and any import and export programs in coordination with our Corporate International Logistics lead. The Coordinator is also responsible for managing the daily shipping schedule along with the drop trailer pool, which involves significant daily communication with ASR carriers and the customers’ carriers in order to avoid production shutdowns due to warehouse space constraints.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Distribute and summarize the Daily Yard Check to the Distribution team.
Update and distribute Shipping Schedule to Warehouse team daily.
Monitor production schedule to ensure orders are in warehouse for loading as needed.
Participate in weekly Unilever teams call to discuss upcoming production and shipments.
Main point of contact with Redpath’s custom broker, HOC, for all imports into Canada (ie obtaining customs invoices, valuations, item descriptions etc).
Review all HOC invoices and monitor entries for errors on imports.
Review all HOC invoices for export shipments and investigate duty payments for accuracy.
Ensure monthly HST/GST billings from customs broker(s) are processed for payment by Toronto Accounts Payable.
Request and follow-up with suppliers yearly for NAFTA certificates on imports while maintaining all files.
Prepare NAFTA certificates yearly for all outgoing products for export to ensure that they are filed with the necessary offices needed for clearance into the USA.
Expedites export order permits with Canada Customs for all retail and bulk shipments.
Prepare Hormel documentation in order to obtain CFIA signatures at their Belleville office and ensure that any new regulations concerning the product are handled.
Expedite FEDEX courier or freight shipments for Maintenance as needed.
Maintain and balance SCP Quota for Redpath and Global Affairs.
Maintain custom tariff database for all Redpath products and raw materials.
Assist Redpath Toronto with any import or export shipments.
Manages loads in Transportation Management System (TMS) – Blu Jay
Back-up for Logistics Coordinator when ill or on vacation.
Role may include after hour and weekend correspondences with carriers and customs broker.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Post-secondary education in supply chain, business administration, or combination of relevant education and experience
CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) designation preferred
Knowledge/experience in logistics, scheduling, and cross-border transactions with customs officials preferred
3-5 years of experience in a logistics, customs brokerage, or supply chain role preferred
Warehouse experience would be considered an asset
