The HR Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all human resources initiatives including human resources policies and procedures, hiring and recruitment, organizational development, training and development, performance management and employee relations, HRIS, and performance management.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategy:
Develops and reviews policies and procedures and ensures they are communicated to staff
Keep abreast of current HR best practices, developments and principles through networking with HR management professionals
Ensures bi-annual HR audits are conducted and recommendations implemented
Establishes and maintains systems/programs to foster a culture of collaboration, respect and fun across Redwood Plastics locations
Prepares and submits HR reports as required/needed.
Employee Relations:
Conducts onboarding and orientation; administer and process onboarding paperwork; conduct staff off-boarding, exit interviews and exit procedures; manage conflict resolution and employee complaints; collaborate with Management to coordinate and execute staff celebrations; process hire/termination/disciplinary paperwork, communicate employee celebrations.
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with management and staff to help gain confidence and corporation in the delivery of HR services.
Mediate on internal staff disputes to ensure an amicable resolution in keeping with the established policies and procedures.
Facilitate staff concerns and discussions in a manner that demonstrates respect.
Full Cycle Recruitment:
Working with hiring managers and recruiters, posting jobs, booking and conducting interviews, connecting with hiring managers to ensure job descriptions and databases are updated, preparing employment offers, hiring and onboarding staff;
Develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.
Make and or assess recommendations for the review/development of job descriptions, to ensure currency of jobs in meeting the needs of Redwood Plastics.
Policies and Procedures:
Prepares and updates Employee Handbook, Company Policies and HR/Payroll Manuals; directs HR policies and protocols to all staff, updates and tracks employee records and maintains organizational charts.
Ensures programs are in place to facilitate awareness of policies and procedures, and employee handbook with all new hires and employees.
Ensures sign-off on the acknowledgment of handbook/policies and procedures by all new hires.
Performance management:
Ensuring employee activities and outputs meet the organization’s goals.
Creating a culture of high performance – develop our people with performance reviews, goal tracking, and continuous development.
Ensure that organization-wide talent management and Performance Management initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness.
SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline
Supervisory, budgetary, presentation, and interpersonal, skills required
CHRP certification preferred
3 to 5 years experience in an HR role
Expertise in HR policies and procedures
Strong knowledge of hiring processes
Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Detail-oriented and organized
