Position Overview
We are looking for a candidate to fill the position of Financial Analyst – Distribution. Reporting to the Director of Finance in Montreal, the candidate will also work with members of the accounting department and other departments.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain monthly prepaid distribution rights (related and 3rd party) schedules and ensure payments processed in accordance with billing schedules.
- Calculate and book monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries for prepaid distribution rights/distribution rights.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly revenue recognition for Distribution.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly gross margin analysis.
- Participate in the maintenance of appropriate information and internal control systems
- Reconcile & agree intercompany balances and P&L items with counterparts
- Prepare analysis, and update various reports as requested
- Assist in preparing schedules for year-end consolidation and audit
- Assist with interim and year-end external audits
Experience and Qualifications
- Accounting certificate or degree
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience
- Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
- Team player
- Proficient in Excel
- Experience in Film Distribution/Production company accounting (an asset)
- Knowledge of Microsoft GP (an asset)
