Health Services – Long Term Care
Contract Duration: Approximately thirteen (13) months

The Long-Term Care Division requires staff to provide person-centered care to our residents and families following the Butterfly Model of Care. This will ensure high levels of emotional wellbeing and a better quality of life for those living in our homes. Staff are to have emotional intelligence ability to deliver person-centered care in an authentic way that is meaningful to the resident and their family.
The Advisor Policy Long Term Care (LTC) will provide expert advice and works collaboratively with staff across the LTC division in developing and managing all aspects of the work to implement the new regulatory requirements of the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021 as related to policies and programs.
What you will do in this role:
Research, develop and revise policies in alignment with the requirements within the FLTCA, other applicable legislation requirements, Accreditation standards and Regional policies.
Provide expert advice and leadership to conceptualize, develop, implement, and maintain a system (processes, methods, tools, standards, models, etc.) for policy work implementing the legislative and regulatory changes for the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and Ontario Regulation 246/22.
Monitor changes to provincial Directives and best practices, industry trends and other available resources to inform policy and program changes.
Provide knowledge translation of policies relevant to Centre operations and priorities to guide policy implementation and programming delivery.
Consult and engage the Practice, Innovation, and Education team members, Centre Leadership Teams, and relevant internal and external stakeholders in the policy development process.
Collaborate with the LTC Implementation Specialist and provide strategic input and support with the implementation of the FLTCA.
Strengthen capacity across the LTC division related to policy including supports and interventions for staff to apply the appropriate policy methods and tools.
Disseminating and promoting the adoption of key policies and strategic directions within Health Services.
Provides advice to the Divisional Leadership Team on all aspects of policy development and management, identifying risks and actual/potential gaps in current policy, practices and processes.
Undertake the analysis of issues and develop approaches to policies related to the objectives of LTC, including the leadership of ad-hoc teams drawn from LTC staff or cross-divisional teams.
What do we require you ask?
Bachelors degree in Nursing or Health Science or a degree in Policy, Planning, Health Administration, or related degree and expert knowledge of the long term care sector
Knowledge of current and emerging issues related to policy
Minimum of 4 years recent experience in LTC setting
Demonstrated experience in policy analysis and writing and development processes
Knowledge of evidence-informed policy development
Knowledge of research techniques relevant to healthy public policy
Knowledge and/or experience in public consultation and facilitation
Ability to work with senior managers, government officials, health professionals and other stakeholders
Ability to think conceptually and strategically and to provide expert advice to support strategic and operational objectives
Location: In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at the 10 Peel Centre Drive worksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
