Salary Range: $84,335 – $105,414 (plus comprehensive benefits)

The Long-Term Care Division requires staff to provide person-centered care to our residents and families following the Butterfly Model of Care. This will ensure high levels of emotional wellbeing and a better quality of life for those living in our homes.
Staff are to have emotional intelligence ability to deliver person-centered care in an authentic way that is meaningful to the resident and their family.
While you won’t be providing direct resident care, you will play an integral role:
By working with LTC staff at each center to minimize risk and negative impacts of staff absences due to illness or injury
Supporting staff via Ergonomic assessments, risk analysis, staff education and effectiveness evaluation
Reporting to the Supervisor, Practice, Innovation & Education…
What You Will Do:
Collaborate with Corporate Health & Safety and LTC Division to minimize negative impacts of staff absence due to illness or injury by supporting staff transition back to work as soon as medically fit
Coach to management team, employees; promote partnerships in the development of successful return to work planning, execution and management. This includes hands on support and coaching to injured worker
Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
Conduct ergonomic assessments to determine requirements, expectations and suitability for managing individual return to work plans due to injury and illness
Evaluate the effectiveness of return to work plans through the implementation of return to work audits; including statistical analysis, reporting and recommendations
Co-ordinate the development, presentation and evaluation of education sessions related to return to work and avoidance of lost time
Use education and training to build awareness about return to work process throughout the Division
Analyze LTC job routines, including ergonomic risk identification, analysis and resolution while cataloging job restrictions
Maintain a catalogue of possible job opportunities in LTC for return to work candidates, completed in collaboration with Corporate Health & Safety program initiative. Collaborate with Leadership & development to enhance staff skill sets
Manage a fund, in communication with DM/H&S Associate, for the use of enhanced medical or therapy services (such as IME, equipment purchase), and the Light Duties budget for all Homes
Collaborate with and maintain ongoing communication with Disability Management
What the Role Requires
Educational Background/ Must Haves/Bonafide Job Requirement
University degree in Health Sciences, majoring in Kinesiology, Ergonomics or Human Kinetics
Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience in clinical health care setting applying ergonomic principles and providing ergonomic analyses
An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
Association of Canadian Ergomics Certification or Certified Kinesiologist
Extensive knowledge of ergonomic best practices and analysis tools to help conduct physical demand analysis
Experienced working with unionized environment preferred
Knowledge of all relevant legislation, guidelines and standards related to Ministry of Long Term Care
Strong understanding of project management processes and program planning
Effective communicator, with polished time management and organizational skills
*Work Mode: In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at the 10 Peel Centre Dr, Brampton, ON worksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
