Manager, Recycling Depot – Vancouver

Join the Regional Recycling team as Manager in one of our largest and busiest Recycling Centres and help us contribute to making our environment a cleaner, better place.
As a Depot Manager, your overall priority is to ensure compliance of all Recycling Industry Operating
Standards (RIOS) and sustain a safe, clean, organized, successful and efficiently run depot and providing high level customer service.
As a People Manager, your strengths lie in hiring, training, developing, mentoring and leading an engaged and diverse group of individuals to provide excellent customer service, work as a team and contribute to a safe, clean and respectful environment.
Core Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)
− Security of building, personnel, and company assets
− Training and monitoring staff on RIOS including preventative equipment maintenance
− Providing, promoting and training staff on excellent customer service
− Keeping up to date on and promoting Regional’s various recycling programs
− Elevate operations and profitability
− Build and sustain relationships with customers and the community
− Inventory management. Coordinate supplies and shipping with Transporters
– Maintain a clean and organized depot ensuring product is received, processed and moved out in a timely and efficient manner.
− Hire, train, develop, mentor, engage and motivate staff, and promote teamwork
− Follow protocols for all accounting and finance processes and reporting requirements
− Administrative file management, documentation and data entry
Qualifications:
( NOTE: this role spends much time working alongside staff on the floor, both indoors and out and in all weather conditions)
Our Vancouver Depot is one of our largest centres and receives and processes very high volumes of product. A high degree of planning and organization and the ability to train and motivate staff to work as a team in all areas is key to the success of this role.
