The Role: Pre-Construction Project Coordinator
Responsible for assisting the Pre-construction Project Manager in the coordination of preconstruction activities and early work tendering and in the administration of Procore. They will ensure a smooth flow of information between the design team, consultants, and contractors.
What You’ll Do:
· Coordinate pre-construction work on a very large or complicated project or on a major project at which exists unique problems in schedule, construction, or design
· Coordinate as requested, engineering activities in preparation of project proposals, including estimates for engineering staffing, quantities, scope reviews, and schedules
· Establish and maintain access to technical experts in the advanced technologies pertinent to the project and set up channels of communication to bring this expertise to bear effectively on the engineering effort
· Preparation of contract documents and schedules.
· Review and/or supervise, as assigned, the preparation of construction estimates, cost engineering studies, and budgets.
What You’ll Need:
· Degree in Architecture, an Engineering or Scientific discipline, or specialized courses in Construction Management or equivalent experience and training (Project Management certificate considered an asset)
· Progressive work experience, including supervision, preferably in project and staff design engineering or architectural design (may include other relevant types of engineering including start-up and field engineering)
· Technical knowledge of a specialized engineering discipline cost scheduling and/or contracts administration relating to the construction of heavy industrial or commercial complexes
· Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved including current knowledge of new methods of design and construction
· Ability to determine the priority of assignments based on critical deadlines
· Ability to resolve field-initiated questions
· Written and oral communication skills
· Must possess computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (experience with project management software an asset)
