Duties & Responsibilities:
– Answer telephone and electronic enquiries and relay telephone calls and message.
– Ensure good communication flow between the garage staff and dispatch.
– Data-Entry into TMS system (Truck Mate).
– Maintain accurate files; invoices, work orders & SAAQ/Insurance inspection papers.
– Maintain a maintenance schedule for oil changes, safety checks, IFTA (QC) mileages etc. for the trucks & ensure they are completed as required.
– Inform mechanics of what work is required, and then prioritize according to departure time.
– Ensure mechanics are performing their duties adequately & necessary paperwork is completed.
– Liaise with other departments & offer assistance when available.
– Handle all inquiries in an efficient and respectful manner.
– Assist Garage Supervisor in their duties, as required.
– Bill the brokers for the fuel that is purchased from Remco.
– Oversee & coordinate department procedures. Updating SOP’s on a regular basis.
– Cross training coworkers.
– Participate in some warehouse /dock functions when required.
– Other duties that may be assigned by supervisor
Requirements & Qualifications:
– Previous experience in a similar role in the transportation industry is an asset
– Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
– Strong attention to detail skills
– The ability to work independently
– Strong organizational skills
– Good verbal and written communication skills
– Strong time management skills
– Experience with Truckmate/ (TMS) is an asset
