Remix Swing Looking for Part-Time Dance School Administrative Assistant at Waterloo, ON Full Time

About the Employer:

Remix Swing is the only Kitchener/Waterloo based West Coast Swing dance school – founded in 2022. We host adult West Coast Swing dance classes, events, dance parties, workshops, and social dances. Currently, the business is a one-woman show and with the incredible growth we have experienced in the last 6 months, it is time to spread the load to an exceptional candidate.

Position Description:

The Part-Time Dance School Administrative Assistant will report directly to the owner and be responsible for customer service and day-to-day operational needs. Most of the work required can be done remotely in your own time (flexible hours). In-person assistance required some Wednesday evenings and weekend dance events.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Respond to enquiries from current and potential students and visitors.
• Track income and expenditure for the business (basic accounting).
• Handle transactions including but not limited to class registration and sales.
• Keeping track of all sales, purchase, and refund receipts.
• Maintain student attendance records.
• Create and schedule Instagram & Facebook posts, Facebook events, Eventbrite events, Meetup events, and share posts to social media groups.
• Create graphics using Canva.
• Attend twice-weekly meetings with studio owner to discuss workload for the coming week and get approvals for posts, etc.
• Assist in resolving issues as they arise.

Position Requirements:

The ideal candidate should be sociable, friendly, organized and detail-oriented. They must be able to handle several tasks while prioritizing matters according to their urgency and maintain a positive attitude.

• Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms
• Experience using Google Drive
• Basic Accounting Skills
• Strong written and verbal (phone, email and in person) communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience with (attending or working) dance schools/classes an asset (not required)
• Proficiency with Canva, Square, and Eventbrite an asset (not required, training will be provided)

Employment Details:

• Part-Time (6-12hrs/wk as required)
• Flexible hours, remote work
• Occasional availability on Wednesday evenings (7-10pm) and weekends
• Wage: $18/hour
