As part of the Fox Group Canada expansion plans (Mango, Fox Home, Nike and Laline) we are looking for an experienced Human Resources Director to join our Head office team! Ideally, you are someone who is ambitious, would thrive in a ‘start-up’ environment and who has the knowledge, experience, and drive to contribute to our mission to build a best- in- class workplace.
This role serves as a key member of the Fox Group Canada leadership team and provides vision and direction as it relates to all aspects of human resource management. You will work conjointly with the Sr. Leadership team in Canada and the HR Director FoxNSP-Global (Israel) to develop and deliver human resources strategies, solutions and plans aligned with the overall business objectives and strategies including talent acquisition, performance management and overall employee lifecycle activities to ensure we are operating in a way that enhances our culture and supports our aggressive national growth and expansion plans.
What you’ll do:
Own the HR programs/processes that support the employee life cycle as it relates to talent acquisition, on-boarding/training, performance & talent management
Drive Retailors growth & business strategy with competitive reward programs and innovative people practices that attract and retain.
Show judgment and expertise when advising on performance management & employee relations issues.
Provide individualized leadership coaching as required to help drive high performance teams
Effectively coach leaders in matters related to people, HR processes, employment practices, HR programs, and corresponding impact on the business.
Partner with leaders on organizational design, restructuring and related organizational activities
Work collaboratively with executive management, line managers, the HR team, and other stakeholders to build a culture of excellence and innovation.
Look for opportunities to improve internal processes & service and work effectively with the appropriate people to implement these changes
Build, develop and coach the Canadian HR team to ensure HR initiatives, programs and policies are implemented, meet provincial compliance and are managed and executed to deliver a ‘best in class’ HR function.
Deliver training on workforce issues including company policies, performance management.
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organization Development, Business, or related field required. CHRL or CHRE Designation required.
7+ years of progressive human resources/organization development experience; 5+ years’ experience managing a HR team.
Experience in the retail industry, preferably in a scale-up, national company
Strong knowledge/experience in all aspects of the human resources discipline – employee relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, and training and development.
An exceptional communicator who can convey complex ideas to a variety of audiences
Experience working as part of shared services model supporting multiple banner/businesses
Experience with acquisitions/post-acquisition integrations
Possesses a deep and broad understanding of labor/employment laws (multi-provincial)
Track record for building high performing, highly engaged teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills – French speaking would be an asset.
Ability to inspire and influence multiple stakeholders; build credibility at all levels and establish collaborative working relationships.
Strong business and financial acumen and broad business skills.
Proactive, with a willingness to learn and become involved in non-core tasks
Excellent consulting, coaching, facilitation and client management skills.
