R&H Mechanical Looking for Project Manager at Burlington, Ontario, Canada Full Time

R&H Mechanical has been a family-owned business since 1976 and we are expanding our new construction commercial department. We have an immediate opening for a Project Manager. The project manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of superintendents and field personnel to deliver exceptional quality and customer service to our clients. The Project Manager will be closely working with upper management to understand the goals and direction of R&H Mechanical and lead their team to generate profits.

The project manager is responsible for the successful execution and management of both Design-Build and Plan-Spec project from inception to completion. They are the primary point of contact between the company and our clients and must always represent the company in a professional and knowledgeable manner. They must possess excellent communication skills along with all the technical background and skills that are required for HVAC projects.

Pay: $100,000 – $115,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Planning, scheduling and implementing large projects.
• Coordinating with suppliers, engineers, GCs, workers, and other trades
• Direct and lead the work of the installation crews, inspecting work in progress to confirm workmanship follows standards and requirements.
• Ensure that contract documents are followed, and that deadlines and cost targets are met.
• Maintain and review all required project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, substitution requests, change orders, and any other documentation that is needed.
• Project accounting functions to ensure budget accuracies, correct invoicing and resolving discrepancies, schedule of values and payment applications. Coordination with billing department
• Must be familiar with and practice all safety and conduct standards as required on the job and ensure that the crews are following safety protocol and maintain a clean job site.
• Attend meetings requested by GCs.

• Read job/cost reports.
• Develop workable solutions to ensure issues never become problems.
• Study bid documents and determine potential issues or opportunities before the project begins.
• Study drawings and develop schedules that will meet budget.
• Ensure accuracy in the budget projections.
• Work with preconstruction services staff and other operations personnel to ensure project goals and milestones are met.
• Review scope of subcontractors and identify any potential risks or omissions.
• Create and promote open communication of project team as well as owner/client.
• Track project budgets and identify any shortcomings or pitfalls within a project, also identify any opportunities to increase profit.
• Organize and attend coordination and site meetings with owners and/or meetings as assigned.
• Maintain written documentation involving important changes in project scope, execution or cost.
• Develop the objectives and goals for team members.
• Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
• Ensure that job processes are followed in accordance with company policies.
• Ensure company contractual standards are being met prior to performing work.

Requirements

• Must pass drug and background screens.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable through company insurance carrier
• Able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing.
• Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
• 3+ years’ experience working in a similar position.
• Bachelor’s degree or PMP certification preferred.
• Must have knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and controls; and working knowledge of mechanical plans and specifications.
• Good management skills to plan and direct the activities of others with limited supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
