Accountant Administrator for A Mortgage Management Corporation

This role handles all finance and accounting operation and prepares all necessary reports for top management to make informed financial decisions. This role readies and maintains financial and business transactions, applies accounting principles, and has a solid understanding of both accounting theory and practice. Experience working in the mortgage industry would be beneficial.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Full cycle monthly accounting (A/R,A/P, deposits, cheques, data entry, etc.)
• Perform cash management and maintain banking relationship regarding Borrower payments and Investor remittances.
• Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
• Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
• Balance’s subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
• Process payments received from clients and various departments
• Post daily payment transaction, EFT payment, wire transfers, third party transfersCalculate per diem interest in conjunction with receipt of payout funds and accurately identify shortfalls and refunds requiring action
• Reconciliation of Bank Statements
• Monitor mortgage loan balances, Interest, and other receivables to ensure all amounts due are collected.
• Prepare mortgage settlement reports for investors Confirm settlement funds received are accurate and exact.
• Prepare and maintain monthly/weekly/daily mortgage funding reports
• Preparation of special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

· Summarizing the current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.

· Reconciliation of financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings.

· Evaluate reporting systems and financial procedures in place, develop and implement new ones as necessary.

· Manages and prepares for all annual audit and compilation engagements of financial statements.

· Develop and implement internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial and accounting information and prevent fraud.

• Maintaining customer confidence and protecting operations by keeping financial information strictly confidential.

· Responsible for all business correspondence (letters, contracts, statements, etc.)

· Respond to all inquiries within a reasonable turnaround time.

· Special projects or other duties as assigned

Experience: Accounting 5 or more years

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any equivalent degrees
• Previous work in the same or similar industry is an asset
• CPA designation is an asset
• Knowledge of Sage, Word and Excel is mandatory
• Strong Analytical Skills, Attention to Detail, Excellent interpersonal Skills & Organizational Skills

· Exceptional Communication Skills – both written & verbal especially in drafting agreements

· Able to Assume a High Level of Responsibility, Multi-Task and handle prospective changes effectively in a fast-paced working environment.

· Ability to work Under Pressure & Compliance with Strict Deadlines. Work Independently & Self-Motivating, with minimum supervision and maximum virtual monitoring. Capacity to prioritize tasks in a busy environment to meet daily objectives

Salary: $51,246.10-$91,461.76 per year
