BACKGROUND:
Right To Play is a global organisation that protects, educates and empowers children to rise above adversity using

children last year to stay in school and out of work, to prevent life-threatening diseases like HIV and malaria and

JOB SUMMARY:
This is a dual role where you will work as a People and Culture (P&C) partner to Right To Play (RTP)’s Indigenous
Programs (22 employees) and support global DEI initiatives at RTP.
P&C Partner
The P&C Officer is a member of the Global P&C team and reports directly to the Global Director, P&C at HQ. The
P&C Officer will receive support from the other members of the Global P&C Team to carry out their work,
including the Global Talent Acquisition Specialist and Director Global Total Rewards. The incumbent is part of
the Global P&C Community of Practice for knowledge sharing and learning purposes
The role works as a partner to the Executive Director, Indigenous Programs, as they directly support this team of
22 employees. They lead the end-to-end processes of P&C management, and are responsible for the
implementation and interpretation of P&C policies and procedures across Right To Play’s Indigenous Programs
team. They provide advice on different P&C issues, local employment laws and practices to both the Senior
Management Team (SMT) and staff. They maintain transparent and objective systems that attract and retain
talent, motivate and support staff performance, build trust, facilitate the learning and development of
employees and ensure that compensation decisions are effectively communicated and implemented.
The P&C Officer will be based in Toronto with occasional travel to communities across Canada as required by the
Executive Director, Indigenous Programs, and Global Director, P&C respectively.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)
In addition to the above, the P&C Officer reports directly to the Chief People Officer and works closely with the
Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (GDEIC), to support global initiatives. This includes supporting
the development, implementation and monitoring an organizational wide DEI strategy, in line with the GDEIC
Workplan and the DEI Commitments articulated within the new Global Strategic Plan. The Officer will support
efforts to ensure RTP’s culture, environment, and policies are diverse, inclusive, and equitable for current and
prospective employees. They will support the organization in developing and implementing programs and/or
initiatives that encourage diversity, promote equity, and support psychological safety for all employees. They
will liaise with internal teams across RTP in Country Offices, National Offices and Global HQ, and will also have
the opportunity to engage and build relationships with external organizations and professional networks.
