About the role
We are in search of an Advisor Drills to join our Surface Operations Mine Maintenance Department. The role will support Mine Maintenance team by administering the systematic and coordinated maintenance functions to efficiently manage the Surface Operation fleet. Including but not limited to their associated performance, expenditure optimization of those assets over their life cycles, risk mitigation and ultimately achieving the organization’s strategic plan. The Advisor will provide frontline leadership, mentoring/advising on the effective implementation and performance of key Surface Operation units; in line with company policies and procedures achieving our department’s objectives.
Working 4 Week on/ 2 Week off FIFO roster and reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance, you will be responsible for:
- Daily based task assignment and safety supervision
- Monitor work performance and safety implementation Troubleshooting and maintenance on Surface Operation Drill Fleet (including CAT MD5640, Epiroc PV351, D65 and Sandvik DR560)
- Advise and supervise the maintenance team with safe working methods on planned and unplanned maintenance
- Support weekly maintenance scheduling and planning
- Delivering weekly, monthly and annual maintenance performance KPI’s and compiling annual maintenance budget for the areas of accountability.
- Partner with AMM teams to standardize, identify and replicate best practices along global RT mining standards.
- Report and analyzes equipment’s daily breakdowns and maintaining services
- Provide long term maintenance plan for the equipment to improve reliabilities
- Monitor and provides equipment parts’ reliabilities and cooperate with planning team
- Monitor and improves equipment’s utilization to cooperate with Mine Operation Department
What you will bring
- Engineering Degree or Maintenance service qualification certificate in related disciplines
- Good understanding of maintenance operations, such as process flows and equipment.
- At least 5 years relevant working experience
- Previous Open Pit Mining Equipment maintenance experience
- Experience utilising computerised maintenance management systems such as SAP and MS Projects.
- Demonstrated skills in mentoring and coaching foreign national employees
- Experience in Business Improvement and agile project management

Where you will be working
Oyu Tolgoi is an operating Copper/ Gold open pit mine with a brownfields underground mining project. The site is located in the Gobi Desert region of Mongolia. The reserves case for the underground project is in the order of 0.5 billion tonnes of ore to be mined from the 95,000 tonnes per day Hugo North Lift 1 (HNL1) panel cave mine with a 20-year operations life. There is also the potential for three further block cave districts to increase mine life beyond 100 years.
