About the role
We are looking for a Surface Mining Dispatch responsible for recording operations data in the PITRAM Dispatch system. This role will also be responsible for administrative duties assigned to support the Surface Mine Operations to ensure that the goals of the department are achieved in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner.

Reporting to the Superintendent, Surface Mining Operations, located at the Lac de Gras Mine site, you will be working on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation alternating Night Shift and Day Shift.
Working collaboratively with all operational and functional departments, you will be responsible for:
Recording accurate Mine Operations data in PITRAM including status of mining equipment and activities, equipment stoppages and delays, generating end of shift reports, ensuring quality of data;
Providing support and information to Pit Supervisors and Mine Technical Services;
Ensuring clear, accurate and timely reporting is achieved and maintained;
Assists in gathering project data, monthly reports for business reporting and information centres;
Assists with identifying opportunities for improvement projects and supports/develops effective project scopes, shares in knowledge and lessons learned;
Supports the productivity team as required;
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Strong safety mindset;
Grade 12 education or higher;
Excellent oral, written and active-listening skills;
Some knowledge of surface mine engineering practices, blasting, drilling and mine services
Some knowledge of industry practices and safety regulations and standards
Highly effective organizational, time management and communication skills;
Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team;
Proficiency with MS Office, skilled at developing & managing spreadsheets, graphing and ability to learn new software.
Northern residency and experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the North, are assets.
