Role Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the role of a Facility and Shop Maintenance Worker is to perform assigned, facility, yard maintenances, fleet inspections and repairs/maintenance accurately. The Maintenance worker is responsible for performing regular routine, facility, yard, and fleet duties. Some fleet duties are carried out under strict supervision of the Journeyman Mechanic. This role is also responsible to facilitate and advise the Fleet Manager on procurement of parts, materials, operation and maintenance of facility, yard and the condition of fleet assets. The Maintenance worker is also responsible to document all work, inspections, repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles/equipment, facility and yard to ensure maintenance records and history is always up-to-date. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections on vehicles/ equipment, Building and yard to ensure they are in good condition.
- Complete necessary repairs and maintenance require to building, yard and vehicles/equipment after reporting defects to the Fleet Manager.
- Wash and clean all fleet assets; vehicles and equipment, ensure all field offices are cleaned, neatly packed and all furnishings are present. Report any damages found.
- Communicate with the Fleet Manager to procure equipment parts or to schedule Third- party repairs and maintenance, when needed
- Move equipment in and out fleet shop. Prep for repairs and maintenance. Complete visual inspections for leaks, check fluid levels and grease
- Maintain physical appearance of vehicles which includes; washing, sanding and painting.
- Check equipment GPS and replace devices and batteries if needed.
- Carry out basic fluid changes, remove and replace basic air filters along with other small parts.
- Assist in completing Shop repairs and maintenance work orders.
- Pick up and drop off parts, vehicles/Equipment to site and Third-Party shops
- Liaise on with RET’s Mechanic for guidance on repairs and maintenance when necessary
- Maintenance of RET’s facility yard, full landscaping and snow removal duties.
- Carry out other tasks assigned by Fleet Manager.
Requirements
- Approximately 2 years of experience Facility maintenance with some knowledge working Equipment and vehicles operation
- Must be able to complete inspection small repairs and maintenance on building and vehicles/Equipment with minimal supervision.
- Experienced in landscaping and snow removal.
- General knowledge of operating construction equipment and building maintenance.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required
- Comfortable working in all types of variable weather conditions
- Flexibility to be working on the road and geographical knowledge around Alberta
- Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills and detail, strong customer service, time management and excellent communication skills with field personnel
- Strong work ethics – uses time efficiently, works safely, and ensure everyone around is working safely
