Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Purchasing Admin’s role is focused on entry level purchasing functions and supporting activities for the purchasing team. This may include filing, reconciling field credit card receipts/statements, travel invoice coding, and ordering tools, materials and site services for projects at the best price and ensuring they are delivered/available as required. The Purchasing Admin is responsible for acting in the best interests of the projects and company to ensure the best use of financial resources.
Responsibilities
- Follow and apply purchasing functions within our procurement practices
- Support the Procurement Manager, Purchasers and Project Managers with project requirements, including purchasing material/services and filing procurement records
- Review and maintain the project Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Create POs with applicable terms and conditions following the company’s procurement and accounting practices under the direction of the Procurement Manager
- Maintain the material database, ensuring material is ordered with a Rising Edge material number and pricing is updated for future estimating requirements
- Facilitate Rising Edge’s sub-contractor prequalification process with the Procurement Manager and safety
- Reviewing open PO’s and supporting the Purchasers in expediting material and closing POs
- Ad hoc tasks assigned by the Procurement Manager
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Engineering and/or 1+ years purchasing experience; or Diploma in Business, Finance or Engineering and/or 2+ years purchasing experience
- SCMP designation or enrollment preferred
- Experience in procurement material and equipment within the electrical utility industry would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of contract law within Canada; knowledge of basic contract law in California and North Carolina would be considered an asset
- Strong computer skills in a Windows environment, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Internet Explorer and SharePoint
- Experience in ViewPoint (Vista) Construction Software is an asset
- Well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
