Role
Reporting to the President, the Quality Manager is responsible for the overall development, management, coordination, and delivery of the Quality Management System for the company’s entire portfolio of projects. The Quality Manager is accountable for the planning and drafting of projects’ quality system requirements (including Inspection and test Plans) and implementation of projects’ quality control plans, while ensuring that the Rising Edge’s quality management system is ISO 9001 compliant. This role is responsible to continuously determine the requirements of the system and all interested parties and develop the measures to ensure that these requirements are met. The Quality Manager provides technical support to the Field Quality Inspectors while monitoring quality assurance activities aimed to establish system efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Determine annual objectives through quarterly management SWOT analysis and continuously review and maintain the department’s core document for continual improvement and risk mitigation in quality assurance and control
- Be the main point of contact for Clients, Project Managers and Subcontractors, in the field, by providing quality support for projects by ensuring the proper resources are scheduled to:
- Participate in internal and external site audits and conduct frequent jobsite inspections based on compliance with corporate, federal, and provincial policies, practices, and procedures
- Ensure compliancy of non-conformance reporting (NCR) process by managing and monitoring NCR database and ensure that proper records and resolutions have been submitted
- Function as a liaison with client’s auditors and assume responsibility for ensuring corrective actions with clients’ specifications. Conduct root cause analysis and assist project’s personnel with implementation of corrective actions
- Continually developing and reviewing of inspection and test procedures
- Ensure external provider QMS processes are developed, maintained, and followed, and the development of technical and quality requirement for external providers
- Support Panel Shop fabrication division in maintaining an ISO 9001 certified Quality Management System
- Manage all QA/QC field inspectors and provide site leadership in all areas of quality management systems
Requirements
- Experience in Risk identification and management, change management and continuous improvement strongly preferred
- Must have prior experience in developing and maintaining QMS, product conformity, materials management systems and general knowledge of Project and Construction Management
- At least 7 years of Quality assurance and Quality control experience, preferably in a construction industry, required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Technical field
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Training
- Power System Electrician Certificate would be an asset
- Ability to conduct internal audits effectively, gather requirements, results analysis and standards interpretation considered an asset
- Proficient in MS SharePoint, MS Word, and MS Excel
- MS Visio and MS VBA skills are an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology
- Having at least 10 years of field experience in High Voltage industry would be an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Ability to interpret contracts
