Description There is an opening for an Accounts Payable Clerk through Robert Half, whose duties will be matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P). This is a long-term contract / temporary position located in the Toronto, Ontario area. What you get to do every day
- Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
- General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- Work with Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing
- Mend discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
- Assemble documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes
- Post financial information to journals and ledgers
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Prepare Journal Entries
- Good understanding of Ledger Journal Entries
- Comprehension of Post Journal Entries
- Monthly Journal Entries experience highly valued
- Adeptness in Excel VBA
- Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Previous experience working with Month-end Journal Entries
- Prior experience with Record Journal Entries
- Excel VBA experience preferred
- Experience with Posting Journal Entries
- General familiarity with Microsoft Excel
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Background working with Adjusting Journal Entries
- Earlier work involving journal entries
- Experience with Excel Formulas
- Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Excelsius
- Proficiency in Excel Formulas
- Dynamics GP experience highly preferred
- Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and ERP system
- Excellent data entry skills
- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request
- 1+ years of relevant experience
