We are looking for an independent Bookkeeper with a background in accounting, who is fond of group work and enjoys relating to other people. The firm offering this long term to permanent Bookkeeper role & is based in the Lindsay, Ontario area.
Key responsibilities
– Oversee and manage full cycle of accounting duties
– Organize a structured method to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; define bookkeeping policies and procedures
– Reconcile accounts by rectifying entries
– Put together financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
– Support accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
– Prior experience working with collections/accounting software
– Cash applications experience highly preferred
– Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)
– Demonstrated knowledge of month end closings
– BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
-Experience with Reynolds and Reynolds a strong asset
-Experience with Accounting software systems
– Practical knowledge of payroll
– Adeptness in Month-end Close Activities
– Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
– Bank reconciliations experience preferred
– Background working with Cash Deposits
– General familiarity with Canadian Payroll
– Journal entries experience
– Microsoft Excel experience
– Previous experience as a Bookkeeper preferred
