Robert Half Looking for Collections Specialist at Thornhill, Ontario Full Time

Robert Half is looking for an experienced Collections Specialist with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail! This long-term contract role is for a Collections Specialist who wants to work in the Aurora, Ontario area.

Major responsibilities of Collections Specialist:

– Record all customer payments to the correct reports
– Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment
– Act as liaison in maintaining quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries
– Administer all billing and reporting activities in response to deadlines
– Process Payments
– Handle inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence
– Correctly process bankruptcy filings when received
– Oversee and update customer files to ensure data consistency
– Abide by all rules and regulations established by the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act

Required skills and experience of Collections Specialist:

– Expertise in B2B collections
– Comprehensive knowledge of B2B collections
– Commercial collections experience
– Collections management experience
– Ability to analyze customer accounts and make decisions based on those analyses
– AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred
– Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
– Prior experience working with accounting software
– 3+ years of prior high volume collections experience
