Responsibilities
– Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
– Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
– Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
– Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
– Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
– Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
– Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
– Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations
– Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
– Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
– Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
– Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
– Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
– Vow to meet business deadlines
– Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
– The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
– BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
– Proficiency in budget forecasting
– Construction Accounting experience preferred
– Solid understanding of month end closings
– Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
– 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
– Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
– Prior work done in public accounting is desired
– Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
– CPA required
