Your responsibilities
– Identify environmental health and safety training needs, coordinate and schedule training sessions and evaluations under the direction of management
– Update and revise environmental health and safety policy manual and work instructions, develop communication plan and communicate to employees
– Ensure company wide compliance with applicable environmental health and safety legislation
– Complete and submit WSIB Form 7 for workplace illness/injury
– Collaborate with other members of the HR department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
– Maintain first aid report and conduct accident/incident investigations as needed
– Act as the primary contact for Ministry of Environment (MOE) and Ministry of Labour (MOL) visits, and ensure orders are completed and signed off

– Compare remain up to date on current legislation and current internal policies and procedures
– Develop templates for HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
– Strong knowledge of related legislation
– 2 or more years of experience in Health and Safety or Human Resources
– Prior experience with WSIB and RTW plans
– This role needs to be highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
– Post secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
– Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
