Your responsibilities
– Collaborate with other members of the HR department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
– Engage with other teams, including with upper management, employees, and third-party vendors
– Design templates for HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
– Develop a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections
– Manage employee relations, which may include finding new ways to engage employees or coordinating sensitive conversations
– Develop official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
– Develop onboarding plans and train newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
– Maintain physical and digital files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
– Conduct employee performance reviews, including assisting with annual reviews, appraising pay scales, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
– Create employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite
– Differentiate local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures
– Accountable for completing various tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department
– B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
– Proven understanding local, state and federal laws
– Prior HR Generalist experience preferred
– Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
– Experience with full cycle recruiting
– Excellent written and verbal business skills
– Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
– Skilled in technology applications and software, as well as social media platforms
– Highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
– Prior experience or knowledge managing Open Enrollment is a plus
