Description
Robert Half is trying to fill the position of Intermediate Accountant for a thriving organization in the real estate and property management industry. This position is a permanent role and is located in the Toronto, Ontario area.
Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end financial statements and working papers for holding companies, land development and commercial construction projects
- Communicate with CRA on general inquires, review, audit and other administrative tasks
- Conduct full accounting cycle including AR, AP, bank reconciliation, journal entries posting
- Perform analysis on various accounts when needed such as investments, incomes and expenses
- Communicate and assist external accountant on year-end inquires and info needed
- Record investments transactions and reconcile with T slips
- Prepare and submit T2 (corporation tax returns), T5018 (contract payment return), T5013 (partnership return), Quebec tax returns and QST
- Create AR invoices
- Prepare cash call, cash flow reports and budgeting
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 3 year of accounting experience in general accounting role
- University degree or College Diploma in accounting
- Experience in preparing working papers and financial reporting
- Experience and proficiency in Excel, Word and powerpoint with skill at the intermediate level
- Experience with Yardi and in CA firm is an asset
- Strong work ethic, very organized, self-motivated
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
- Working experience of Newstar and Cantax
- Desire to learn
