Robert Half Looking for Junior Accountant at North York, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Key Responsibilities

This role involves a high volume of transactions, in a dynamic, fast paced, and complex organization.

• Accounts Payable – record and process invoices and expense claims for payment, monitor account and budget allocation, ensure a timely payment cycle and manage vendor relations.
• Process, record, and reconcile credit card payments.
• Accounts receivable – create customer invoices, process payments, follow up on accounts and monitor the subledger for outstanding past-due invoices and/or short-payments providing a high level of customer support.
• Receive, investigate, and respond to customer and vendor account-related queries
• Record sales receipts reconciling the sales subledgers and ecommerce platforms for memberships, events, and training. Reconcile and post payments received to the accounting system on a daily basis and follow up of uncollected accounts.
• Record and reconcile payroll transactions and government remittance.
• Bank reconciliations on a daily and monthly basis. General Ledger account reconciliations.
• Ad-hoc account analysis and expense reporting as required.
• Office administrative duties to support training and membership processes.

Qualifications and Skills Bachelor of Commerce with an Accounting focus.

• Extensive Quickbooks desk experience is a requirement.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience providing support to internal and external stakeholders with a focus on customer service
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated competence in Microsoft office and general comfort with technology, and databases.
• Experience in a CPA firm, or in an accounting role is a requirement.
