Your responsibilities
– Exercise review and verification of source documents
– Handle payroll discrepancies through information collection and analysis
– Handle other duties as necessary
– Provide help with all internal and external audits of payroll
– Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary
– Reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities as needed
– Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
– Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, ensure company compliance
– Take charge of all questions and requests related to payroll
– Payroll record maintenance by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
– Protect confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
– Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments to establish payroll liabilities
– Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads
– Organize and compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages in order to draft relevant reports
– Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
– Process Biweekly Payroll experience
– Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel
– Comprehensive knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
– Expertise in Bamboo
– Understanding of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
– Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
– Expertise with internal controls
– Prior experience using accounting software
– Capable of managing high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
– Knowledgeable about federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
– 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll
– Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular
– Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred
