We are seeking a proactive and organized Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) for one of our reputable clients in the legal industry. As an LAA in Wills + Estate litigation, you will play a crucial role in supporting our lawyers and legal team to ensure the efficient operation of their practice. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with the insurance defence field will contribute to the overall success of our firm.
Responsibilities:
– Assist lawyers and paralegals in the preparation, editing, and formatting of legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, and correspondence.
– Manage communication with clients, opposing counsel, and courts, ensuring timely responses and follow-ups.
– Maintain organized and up-to-date case files, both electronically and physically.
– Coordinate court filings, document submissions, and serve as a point of contact for court personnel.
– Schedule client meetings, depositions, and hearings, and ensure all parties are properly informed.
– Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to assist in case preparation.
– Prepare and update billing statements, track expenses, and manage invoicing.
– Provide general administrative support, including managing calendars, arranging travel, and handling phone calls.
– Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Wills
Qualifications:
– Completion of a recognized Legal Administrative Assistant program.
– Minimum of 3 -5 years of experience working in wills + estate litigation or a related legal field.
– Strong knowledge of legal procedures and documentation related to wills + estate or general litigation
– Proficiency in using legal software and tools, including MS Office Suite and document management systems.
– Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
– Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
– Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanor.
– A proactive and self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
