Key responsibilities
– Maintain an accurate record of the Fixed Assets module including fixed assets additions and disposals, monthly reconciliation to the General Ledger and regular review to ensure accuracy.
– Ensures corporate control mechanisms are followed with respect to capital expenditures.
– Reporting of capital expenditures against budget.
– Maintain accurate records of all Capital files including backup documentations for major capital projects
– Prepare monthly foundation grant requests and third party billing related to capital projects
– Active participation in the annual capital budgeting process including receipt of capital requests, analysis and reporting.
– Participate in the reconciliation and audit process related to Ministry funded capital projects.
– Coordinate and work with external auditors and external agencies as needed.
– Prepare monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts and prepare month end accounting entries.
– Assist with financial analysis, budgeting.
– Perform testing of system upgrades as they pertain to the Fixed Asset – Work on special projects, as they arise.
– Perform other accounting, finance, and administrative duties, as required.
– College diploma in Accounting/University degree is required.
– Previous relevant accounting experience is required.
– Advanced proficiency in Excel is required.
– Experience using a large ERP system is highly preferred.
– MIS Guidelines knowledge would be an asset.
– Demonstrated commitment to personal growth and development.
– Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff and other internal/external client groups.
– Excellent documentation abilities with attention to detail.
– Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects with strict deadlines.
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
