The Opportunity:

As the Scientific Communications Medical Information Specialist you are able to bring your scientific expertise and passion to a team that is delivering on the external needs in how our science is translated and interpreted in a meaningful way for patient impact. You are responsible for triaging unsolicited medical/scientific information requests on Roche products from external stakeholders and Roche personnel. In your role you tailor the response and communication to match with the needs of the requestor, predominantly, health care professionals, the public and Roche personnel. The Sci Comms/MI Specialist works collaboratively within Medical Strategy to support the execution of the integrated Scientific Communications strategy with a focus on content creation, adaptation, review and training. In this role, you will work collaboratively with Medical Strategy to support the execution of approved medical grants and sponsorships.

• Supports Medical Strategy in the review and approval of all external facing scientific content (e.g. regulatory, market access, and commercial activities). Ensures the integrity and accuracy of scientific and medical data
• Supports Medical Strategy to execute (including follow up) and ensure all documentation requirements are met in support of all medical approved grants and sponsorships
• Supports Medical Strategy as needed in the execution of local conference activities (eg. medical booth coverage, medical symposia execution)
• Supports Medical Strategy in the preparation of the HTA clinical sections of the reimbursement dossier (eg. literature searches and collation, assigned clinical and/or technical sections)
• Writing or contributing to all local internal business processes required to support Medical Education activities. Develop and maintain local SOPs, guidances relating to matters including but not limited to proper and adequate management of business documents and records as it relates to medical education (eg. accredited, non-accredited, symposia, call for grants)
• Contributes to the creation and maintenance of all tools and materials (eg. invite templates, learning needs assessments, evaluation forms, etc.) for Roche personnel involved in the planning and execution all Roche supported Medical Education (both accredited and non-accredited)
• Work with the relevant internal stakeholders (eg. medical, compliance, commercial) to ensure the training materials are created, maintained and tailored as needed for all employees involved in the planning and execution of Medical Education
• Contributes to the preparation and training of all employees involved in the planning and execution of Medical Education are trained as it relates to the delivery of both accredited and non-accredited learning programs according the following: adult learning principles, IMC code and Roche global and local corporate policies, SOPs and guidances
• Contributes to the preparation and training for all staff (primarily Medical and Access Chapters) involved with publications on the appropriate global and local policies and procedures for publications, along with training and access to the appropriate tools used to plan and track publications (e.g. CLEAR)
• Contributes and works with the relevant internal stakeholders to ensure the training materials are created, maintained and tailored as needed for all employees involved in the planning and execution of publications

Who you are:

• University Degree in a Science Based Program (PhD, MSc, MD, PharmD, Biomedical, allied Health) and/or relevant experience in life sciences or health care system sector
• Good understanding of the pharma, health care system environment
• Understanding of fast paced, highly competitive market dynamics
• Experience in principles and techniques of critical data analysis, statistical analysis, interpretation, and assessment of clinical relevance for the purpose of understanding and communicating scientific concepts and study results
• Strong communication skills – ability to communicate with impact and influence; empathetic communicator
