The Opportunity
RVS invites applications from qualified individuals for a continuing, full-time (35 hrs/wk) Software Support Analyst position to join our dynamic team. As a member of the Technology Services department, the Software Support Analyst is responsible for providing ongoing security, support, troubleshooting, training, and user support for various software applications and operating systems, while ensuring the protection of RVS and personal information. The incumbent has ongoing responsibilities of becoming proficient at managing new software applications, operating systems, and security improvements through collaborative effort within a team environment. The position is located at the Education Centre in Airdrie; however, at times may be required to travel to support school locations.
Responsibilities Include
Writes and maintains documentation within RVS IT knowledge base and sharing libraries.
Writes and reviews user requirement documents, procedures, forms, Statements of Work, and Project Charters as needed.
Maintains records of decisions made regarding security protocols related to legal and RVS requirements
Provides Service Desk ticket, phone and e-mail support.
Ensures access management protocols are established.
Monitors applications for health/security/alerts, and assists whenever necessary.
Maintains security and integrity of all systems and reports incidents.
Performs data cleanup, import, export, and entry for various software applications.
Increases software reliability and availability through coordination with other interrelated software systems.
Plans, revises, implements, and manages technology projects involving both internal and external staff.
Sets and communicates project dates, milestones, and outcomes.
Provides one-on-one and group training.
Mitigates risk through planning and providing effective alternative strategies.
Anticipates user software availability needs and manages time accordingly in peak periods.
Education/Experience
A+ certification or equivalent credentials in computer hardware/software and network support
Experience with training and developing customer/user relations
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certificate, or equivalent technology foundation certificate is preferred
Asset/inventory management training and experience preferred
Project Management (PM) training/experience; PM certificate preferred.
