JAYS CARE FOUNDATION – RECRUITMENT SPECIALIST
Position Summary : Jays Care is seeking a Recruitment Specialist. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, The Recruitment Specialists’ primary responsibility will be to attract, source, and help hire qualified candidates for various positions within Jays Care. Duties will include creating and posting job descriptions, reviewing, and analyzing resumes, and contacting potential candidates to schedule interviews as well as onboarding responsibilities.
Recruitment & Onboarding (85%)
Recruitment Strategies: Collaborate with hiring managers to develop effective recruitment strategies for different roles and departments.
Talent Sourcing: Utilize various sourcing channels, including job boards, social media platforms, professional networks, and referrals, to identify and attract potential candidates.
Screening and Assessment: Review resumes and applications to shortlist candidates who meet the basic job requirements. Conduct initial screening interviews to assess candidates’ skills and experience.
Interview Coordination: Help schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers and team members. Provide candidates with all necessary information regarding the interview process.
Assist in Candidate Evaluation: Evaluate the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and suitability for the position.
Manage requisitions and deliver an excellent recruitment experience for all candidates.
Assist in the creation of onboarding material and scheduling for new hires’ first two weeks
Assist with Toronto Blue Jays onboarding hardware necessities
Assist with the communication and upkeep of the employee directory and organizational chart
Organizational Culture and Health (15%)
Collaborate with staff to nurture a healthy and equitable organizational culture that prioritizes racial equity and staff wellbeing.
Assist in organizing and planning staff functions
Participate in the Hiring/Equity internal innovation team
Develop and implement mechanisms to gather staff feedback
Qualifications & Personal Attributes
1 – 2 years experience in a similar role
Education in Human Resources or a related field
Working knowledge of the HR landscape of charities and non-profits in Canada (an asset)
Strong project management skills – highly organized, detail-oriented, able to consistently meet deadlines, and move and follow up on action items.
Demonstrated sound judgment, flexibility, and patience; able to exercise discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
Exceptional communication skills, and an ability to engage and work with diverse groups of people openly and respectfully.
Strong understanding of various recruitment techniques, including sourcing, interviewing, and candidate evaluation.
Exceptional computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Programs
Proficiency in Salesforce is considered an asset
Team player and ability to see the big picture goals of the organization
Excellent interpersonal skills
