We are looking for strong leaders to join our Core Network Project Management Office (PMO). Our mandate is to ensure we consistently work as One Rogers to deliver excellence with urgency through disciplined execution. Our approach focuses on the quality end-to-end experience of our customers, our stakeholders and our employees, sustainable performance and value and continuous improvement. In addition to being able to manage simultaneous complex programs, successful candidates should be able to lead and mentor a team of project management professionals in delivering various project portfolios.
Responsibilities:
Build and foster a trusted partnership with sponsors and key stakeholders, proactively managing stakeholder relationships.
Manage and provide portfolio oversight and governance, partner with stakeholders to understand priorities and resource needs.
Own, direct, manage, and oversee the daily delivery components of complex program(s) /project(s)
Proactively review the performance of projects within the portfolio, working with all stakeholders to mitigate issues and risks to deliver on scope, schedule and cost objectives.
Ability to lead and motivate a team of project management professionals by providing guidance, direction and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills.
Provide regular visibility to project status (key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, metrics) on a standard cadence through status reporting and project reviews.
Work in collaboration with team members within the Rogers PMO community to drive continuous improvement of project management practices.
Participate in the development and implementation of processes and change management activities.
Qualifications:
10+ years end to end management of large-scale complex program/portfolio management in medium and/or large organizations or consulting firms.
3+ years people management experience with demonstrated success in coaching and developing high performing teams.
Experience in every phase of a large agile, waterfall and hybrid program or group of smaller projects, including initiating, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling and closing all technical, fiscal and administrative functions of projects.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or other Agile certification preferred
Bachelor’s degree or years of equivalent experience
Highly developed interpersonal skills with high energy, strong executive presence, and proven ability to create effective, cross-organization relationships, collaborating and communicating across business and technology stakeholders.
Very strong process and problem-solving leadership skills at both strategic and functional levels.
Ability to succeed in challenging and ambiguous situations and thrive in a fast paced and changing environment
Ability to effectively engage, influence, negotiate and communicate program / project reviews to Senior and C-level leadership team
Exceptionally strong attention to detail.
Proven ability to coach and mentor a team of top talent.
Proven ability to direct cross-functional teams and act as path of escalation and resolution.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite.
Knowledge of JIRA project management tool a definite asset.
Ability to work at Brampton Technology Campus and 1 Mount Pleasant office locations as required by assigned projects
