What will you do in this role?
Financial analysis of projects and new acquisitions, including the evaluation of revenue and work in progress.
Streamline existing review processes and set up new ones as required.
Designated liaison with broader shared services group; distilling, filtering and translating operational requests and Shared Services responses.
Support Project Managers with the analysis of various operational reports, including variance analysis.
On a monthly basis provide project variance analysis for actuals vs. budget and forecast, focus is on interpretation of the data.
Prepare various ad hoc analysis as required by management.
Responsibility for the billing process and timely payments for Housing Division.
Work collaboratively with the operational team in identifying solutions to defaults.
Participate in the month-end and year-end close process for financial statements and certify all revenue is properly taken based on revenue recognition policy. Facilitate the annual budget and financial forecast process from operations perspective in collaboration with Finance Business Partner, Housing.
Ownership for the accounting information system and data connectors for the Division.
Track and report of recoverable project over expenditures, letters of credit, and other long term financial project obligations.
Managing cost and revenue cash flow projection data as provided by the project managers.
What do we look for?
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent practical experience.
At least four years accounting or financial analyst experience.
CPA, CFA, MBA or equivalent qualification is an asset.
Demonstrated knowledge in project cost accounting and reporting.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of operating in a matrix reporting structure.
Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines is a must.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in internal controls and processes is an asset.
Demonstrated knowledge in business operations and performance management.
A fast learner with adaptability skills and interest to take initiative.
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Power BI is an asset
Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills is a must.
Effective time management and prioritization skills in managing multiple projects are essential to the success of this role.
