The Procurement Manager is a key member of the Rohit Communities team, responsible for developing strong relationships with stakeholders to attract the best procurement opportunities. This creative and innovative candidate will play a leading role in recognizing and bridging the gap between the company needs and the new market changes.
What will you do in this role?
Develop, maintain, and negotiate all contracts/tender packages for Rohit Communities Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatchewan, Ottawa, and all future divisions.
Assist with contracts for other company divisions
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
Source new suppliers and materials including through business networking
Manage the tendering process from start to finish
Manage quality control through supplier management
Maintain, update, and verify direct cost and indirect cost budgets
Evaluate and adjust for variances to budgets
Participate and lead cost review and cost to complete review
Create project proformas, projected margin statements, and feasibility assessments
High level scheduling and project management for subdivisions
Forecast inventory requirements and control inventory
Perform tender and pricing analysis for presentation to stakeholders
Update Executive Management on supplier and market changes
Advise Executive Management on innovative procurement ideas and opportunities
Identify process issues and lead process improvement activities to reduce cost or improve throughput
Conduct periodic technical expert toolbox sessions on site
Coach and mentor team; develop a succession plan; identify and develop the next generation of managers and leaders in the organization

Experience establishing vendor agreements including the ability to strategically assess and mitigate risk with vendors and suppliers.
Familiarity with laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to corporate purchasing practices and the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
Experience in a supervisory, management, or leadership role.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
Knowledge of the appropriate tools for grading, analyzing, and assessing materials, equipment, supplies, services, and other commodities.
In-depth business level understanding of job costing and any construction job costing Enterprise Resource Planning software (we use Microsoft Dynamics).
Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel using advanced formulas and pivot tables.
Exceptional forecasting ability with strong analytical and interpretive skills.
Strong computer skills in a Windows environment.
Strong skills in mathematics, statistics, and accounting.
Direct practical construction experience is favorable.
An Engineering bachelor’s degree or a quantitative-focused Business or Mathematics/Statistics degree considered an asset.
