Rova Products Canada Inc. (“Rova”) located in Brampton, Ontario is a custom cable operation and distributor with a wide variety of customers across the industry spectrum.
We are seeking a high energy team-oriented Junior Accountant. This candidate will have a proven track record at building excellent client relationships and resolving issues with solid problem-solving skills. In addition, they will be providing administrative support to the finance team, therefore an understanding in accounting and experience in a collaborative finance team are considered strong assets!
LOCATION: 30 Automatic Rd, Brampton, ON L6S 5N8
JOB SUMMARY:
- Process and record accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Generate and send out invoices to customers, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Review accounts receivable aging to ensure compliance.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries to the general ledger.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Support the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial analyses as required.
- Contribute to the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Assist in variance analysis and provide explanations for significant differences between actual and budgeted figures.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries.
- Process adjustments and credits.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- 1 plus years of relevant experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be a go getter who is motivated to get the job done.
- Experience working in small finance group in a collaborative manner.
- Organized and high attention to detail
WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT:
- Familiar with large enterprise accounts
- Experience with accounts receivable management programs: Coupa and SAP Ariba
- Experience in other areas of finance would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in speaking and writing in French a strong asset
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- A University or College Diploma in Accounting or Finance would be considered a strong asset.
