Rove Concepts Looking for Financial Controller at Vancouver, BC Full Time

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for accounts payable, billing, payroll, cash management and preparation of accurate and timely financial reports. Other responsibilities include the proper recording of all financial activity in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and the implementation of proper internal controls.

The Role:

• Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL with cash and accrual accounting
• Review and report timely monthly financial statements
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Supervise the month-end, quarterly, and year-end close process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Coordinate, prepare, and update accordingly budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Lead and grow the finance team
• Work closely with both operational and administrative teams in the business

Your qualifications:

• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with preparing and reviewing financial statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month/quarter/year-end close process
• Excellent accounting software skills including QuickBooks Online, Excel
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or audit experience
• Experience in the retail industry an asset
• 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
