RBC Leadership Development Program
Are you a leader? Do you want to apply your leadership skills at RBC, while continuing to develop your leadership skills in a unique and accelerated leadership development program with the largest bank in Canada?
The RBC Leadership Development Program’s goal is to cultivate future leaders of RBC. This is a two-year rotational program that allows you the opportunity to enhance your professional skills through four 6-month assignments. Explore the challenges of working on complex business issues requiring strategic thinking, innovation and strong analytical skills. Work with leaders while developing an understanding of the importance of collaboration and how you can make a difference. We don’t just want you to be part of our future – we want you to help shape it!

As an Associate in the RBC Leadership Development Program, you will join one of five streams: Enterprise, CFO Group, Internal Audit, Personal & Commercial Banking and Risk. Following the program’s completion, you are expected to continue your career path by obtaining a role within the stream you are aligned with.
What will you do?
Based on the principle that leaders learn best from experience, you will learn about the diverse, multi-faceted, global organization of RBC
You will contribute to business development and thought leadership on various initiatives through a series of challenging rotational assignments
You will benefit from mentorship, coaching, formal training and exposure to senior leadership, and build a strong network across RBC
You will have challenging opportunities to grow your career and broaden your knowledge of RBC
Given the global nature of our businesses, you may have the opportunity to complete one of your assignments internationally, depending on Program eligibility requirements
The ideal candidate for the Leadership Development Program is an individual who offers the following:
You are currently a Masters Level student who will graduate before the start of the program in January or July of 2023
You have 3+ years of professional and continuous work experience
Willingness to be proactive, take initiative, drive change and provide solutions
Self-managed; proactive; ability to work independently with little direction
Proven leadership experience (i.e., at school, at work, in the community, etc.)
Confident yet humble; ready to learn & grow; open and receptive to feedback
Strong communication skills; willingness to speak up and listen to diverse perspectives
Positive and can-do attitude (i.e., “what can I do for RBC?”)
Collaborative; team player
Ability to handle ambiguity and deal with constant change
Curiosity and a thirst for continuous learning and innovation
Aptitude to embrace and leverage emerging technologies
Additional requirements for Finance and Risk streams:
CFO Group
Advanced technical skills – Excel, financial modeling, VBA & macros
Solid understanding of accounting and financial theory, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical working environment
Considered an asset: Finance & Accounting Designations CPA, CFA, CA
Risk:
Analytical with strong quantitative skills
Advanced technical skills – financial modeling; macros & VBA; SQL, SAS, Tableau; R; Matlab; C++
Considered an asset: Designations FRM, CFA
