Barrier Ridge Capital (“BRC”) is a unique privately owned Canadian private equity firm with a different approach. BRC utilizes its success in a variety of operating companies to view and manage private equity and real estate investment opportunities through an entrepreneur’s lens.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping including posting routine entries, clearing bank payment transactions, bank reconciliation process, and assistance in cash forecasting.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for monthly bank reconciliation process
- Bookkeeping of various entities, majorly including posting of routine transactions
- Performing HST filings
- Assist in the cash forecasting process
- Perform assigned month-end reconciliations functions including loan confirmations
- Generating reports and statements as per management requests
- Assist management in preparing documentation for year-end reviews
- Assist in quarter-end and year-end processes to close books
- Ad hoc duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail, records management and problem solving skills
- 1-3 years of experience in an Accounting Administrative or Accountant role
- Education in Accounting ideal
- Strong bookkeeping skills and accuracy including organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel is a mandatory requirement and working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook
- Effective interpersonal and strong ability to build relationships
- Adaptable to changing business conditions and a fast-paced work environment
- Previous experience in a multi-company environment is an asset
