THE POSITION
RYZURE ATTA Elevator is seeking a qualified individual to join our team located at the SE Calgary office. This position will report directly to the President & CEO. The Accountants primary responsibility will be to provide full cycle accounting and ensuring that accounts and financial records meet established standards and criteria. Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform day-to-day financial & bank transactions, including verifying, classifying, posting, and recording AP and AR data
- Preparation of weekly payroll for salary, non-union and union employees and reconciliation and allocation to the general ledger
- Full-cycle Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable, Billings & Collections
- Payments and EFT to suppliers
- Month-end close out of sub-ledger reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement preparation in accordance with ASPE
- GST reconciliation and filing
- Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure
- Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
- Financial reporting
- Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or post-secondary diploma in accounting and/or finance is required
- 5+ years’ experience working in full cycle accounting
- Professional accounting designation – CA, CPA, CMA or CGA an asset but not required
- Experience in ERP systems
- Experience in Ceridian payroll software an asset
- Experience in the construction industry is an asset
- Working knowledge of federal & provincial tax laws and union burdens
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Strong communication skills, both written & verbal
- Strong organizational and stress management skills
- Critical thinking, the ability to problem solve and come up with more efficient processes
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Trustworthy and professional
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 applications; Excel, Word, Outlook is required
- Ability to work with little to no supervision
