ABOUT THE POSITION
The Team Lead, Site Services role is to provide direct support to the Superintendent, Facilities – George Site. This role will be an integral part in ensuring the project site is maintained and up to established standards. This includes ensuring that the Site Services personnel are maintaining site areas and systems in an appropriate manner and to the prescribed standards. This is a temporary 2-month role (with possibility of extension) working on a 3 weeks in, 1 week out rotation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Superintendent, Facilities – George Site or Designate, duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Executing Managements direction of daily operations such as air strip maintenance, exploration team support, aircraft ground support, fresh water supply, signage, cleaning, waste management, maintenance, parking, safety inspections, security and snow removal;
- Work with Site Services team to ensure that facilities staff are able to perform their functions safely with the goal of minimizing the risk of hazards and achieve our goal of zero accidents;
- Provide guidance to Site Services personnel as required to ensure established standards are upheld to a high level;
- Participate in daily safety briefings and monitor compliance with discussed topics; and
- Report any adverse incidents, deficiencies or other related performance concerns to the Superintendent, Site Services or designate.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have prior experience working in a remote camp setting with limited access to resources. Additionally, they will have:
- Four (4) years’ of experience in a remote mining setting in a camp or facilities role; and
- Knowledge of heating, electrical generation and distribution, structures, plumbing and environment control systems in a remote off grid configuration and the ability to operate light industrial equipment, such as skid steers, forklifts and the like, considered an asset.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
For informational purposes, the base rate of pay per hour for this role is $38.00 with overtime payable at $57.00 per hour. Competitive travel compensation will be discussed with the successful candidate.
