Civil Supervisor

Location: Toronto, Canada Classification: Full-time

Position Summary

Civil Supervisor with Rail construction experience to join an international company to deliver a trail project in Toronto, Canadá from start, in a management/ construction role providing technical and management support to operations site staff in a safely manner and within time and budget.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Coordinate site supplies and subcontractors resources to ensure successful delivery of projects requirements
• Develop work plans and monitor its implementation since project start-up
• Administrate Inspection & Test Plans to ensure the work meets required standards
• Coordinate third-party testing documentation performing general reviewing and recordkeeping functions
• Develop 3 week look-ahead schedules, considering relevant project milestones and deadlines
• Carry out Risk Assessments (JHA/FLHA) to identify and manage work conditions
• Prepare Request for Information (RFI) submissions and support staff management in its implementation
• Request quotes to suppliers and subcontractors and prepare pricing evaluations
• Coordination of surveyors onsite
• Support and review with shop drawings
• Support with Permits and Licenses approvals
• Night works should be expected along the duration of the project
• Ability to work in a team environment, multi-task, setting priorities to meet deadlines and project milestones
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and to present information clearly
• Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form
• Willingness to contribute actively in team activities, sharing experiences and ideas

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering
• 3+ years’ experience in Civil Construction or not required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer background including Microsoft Office package and MS Project (Primavera P6 is a plus)
