Job Information And Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director, The Language Centre, the Academic Services Manager will:
- Assist in the overall planning and supervision of all TLC Centre programs.
- Hires, supervises, evaluates and mentors instructional staff.
- Schedule and assigns instructors to classes.
- Assume additional responsibilities in the Director’s absence.
Experience And Education Requirements
To be the successful Academic Services Manager you will have:
- Master’s degree in TESL/TEFL or MA in Applied Linguistics or Master of Education plus CELTA or DELTA qualification.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in teaching ESL or EFL (one of these years should be in an Intensive English Program) ideally including experience teaching abroad.
- A minimum of three years directly related experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity with curriculum development, designing and facilitation of professional development programming and strategic planning experience preferably in an educational institution.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple, competing tasks and priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manipulate large amounts of data in spreadsheets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite with specific focus in Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Supervisory experience required, preferably in a unionized environment.
